Our Treatment Care Team:

Amy, Licensed Veterinary Technician

Hello!  I graduated from Northern Virginia Community College with a degree in Veterinary Technology in 2007, and then sat for the National Board Exams to qualify for my Veterinary Technician License.

A lifelong animal lover, i have been working in small animal practice since 2003 and joined Animal Medical in 2009.  I have since expanded my passion to help others by obtaining my RN degree and can also be found taking care of two-legged patients at Chesapeake General Hospital.  But I so enjoy my 4-legged patients, that I have also been fortunate to continue my relationship with Animal Medical.

I enjoy the variety that both my jobs offer; and especially like the surgical and dental procedures, as well as the many hands-on aspects of working with companion animal patients. Currently I am blessed to share my home with two canine and two feline companions.

Rebecca

Rebecca, Veterinary Assistant

Hello, I love big dogs and I cannot lie!

Congratulations to Rebecca - she has successfully graduated from her college of Veterinary Technology!  After working as a Veterinary Assistant for the past 5 years, she is eager to continue on that path as a Veterinary Technician.

My name is Rebecca and I'm originally from California. I moved to Virginia in 2014 from Georgia where I worked at a large/small animal practice for 3 years as a vet assistant. I'm currently studying to take my boards to become a Licensed Vet Technician.   I'm married to a chief in the Navy and  have 4 dogs. In my spare time I enjoy wakeboarding, boating, and spending time with my husband and my fur babies.

Melissa, Veterinary Assistant

Hello! My name is Melissa.

I am a Hampton Roads native and graduated from our local Great Bridge High.  After earning my Associates of Science at Tidewater Community College; I am now pursuing a degree in Business Administration.

I was owned by a wonderful Golden Retriever (Mischief) who passed in 2015 and he will forever stay in my heart.  Mischief had some health concerns that commonly affect Goldens - allergies, hip dysplasia, and cancer; so caring for him taught me a lot about how we can help pets with chronic and severe health concerns.  Currently, my heart belongs to a black kitty named Miso, which some may have seen in the hospital.  Miso is very spoiled and definitely worth every bit of it!  When not working or in school, I'm typically a home body with my nose in a book, binge-watching Netflicks, or out and about with my camera.

I always enjoy working here at AMC because spending time with all our furry friends is always rewarding.  Caring for patients and seeing clients happy is the best feeling you could have.

Tosha and her dogsTosha, Veterinary Assistant

After working in the veterinary profession for more than 15 years; I am currently in school to be a Licensed Veterinary Technician at San Jaun College. I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to explore many different aspects of the field.

I enjoy working with animals of all kinds (and their humans). I love to spend my free time outdoors with my family and friends, including my significant other Kedrick, my kids and doggies; exploring my love for animals and as a Massage Therapist.

Becky, Veterinary Assistant

Hi!  My name is Becky.  I am currently working hard on my associate's degree for Business Management and also an Associate's in Veterinarian Technology.

I am a proud mother of three boys, currently ages 8, 4 and 1+ years old; and a long list of my furry babies.  My pets include 3 dogs - Bella, a hound mix, and two adorable Corgis (Buddy & Bullet); four cats (Marvin, Theo, Gabreth, & Speedy); two cockatiels (Rizo & Kenickie); two crazy ferrets (Drizzit and Artimas); and one snake named El.

Ever since i was little I have always had an animal in my life and I always will.  When I was younger, I worked with Wildlife Rescue.  After hurricanes I would walk around with a group and search for wounded animals.  Animals play a big role in my life and I will always be there for them.

When I am not playing with my babies, I enjoy horseback riding, seeing the latest movie, traveling, baking, and doing martial arts.  I am always looking to the future to see what life brings me!

Our Client Service Team:

Animal Medical Clinic of Chesapeake Katie Adams Veterinary care teamKatie, Senior Client Care Coordinator

"Hello, my name is Katie. I am a proud parent to a college aged daughter, 2 dogs, 5 cats, 3 birds, and 2 snakes.

Since becoming a Navy wife 22 years ago, I have transferred to many different places and picked up new life-long friends along the way. Each one has touched my heart and I knew they would fit perfectly into my home. I have been known to be an easy mark for a cat in a tuxedo; so at times, you may hear me speak of one of my many black and white cats. Unfortunately, the Inn and my bed are full at the current time and I am banned from going to any pet rescue shelters by concerned family members! Maybe when I find that winning lottery ticket, my dreams of filling my home with more 4-legged companions will come true!

Once our roots were planted in Chesapeake, I found the position for veterinary receptionist at Animal Medical 10 years ago and knew it was a great opportunity for me. Adding the knowledge of veterinary care to my 24 years of customer service has given me the tools to make my position here a memorable asset to our clients and my personal pets. I am extremely grateful to those who open their homes and hearts to the furry babies that need them the most."

Sarah, Client Care Coordinator

Hi! My name's Sarah and I am one of the newest of the team members here at Animal Medical!

A Virginia Beach native; I have only recently moved back to my hometown after traveling all over the US as a professional actress - beginning with studies in Musical Theatre in NYC.  I am excited to be back near family and to now be a part of the Animal Medical family!

Along with singing and dancing, I have always had a passion for helping animals.  I have been a foster mommy at various times in my travels; and now have my very own rescue Chihuahua named Bean that I brought back with me from Vegas.  I also am now re-united with my pug named Chase Michael and my other chihuahua, Chanel; who have been living with my family while I traveled. Unfortunately, my two Persian kitties just recently passed while I was away; but will forever have a special place in my heart.

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my Wave Church family, where I sing in the choir; going to the movies, cuddling with my animals, and Bikram yoga.  Most of all, enjoy spending quality time with my family, especially my 8-month-old nephew Finn, who is my everything!

I hope to enroll in college later this year to pursue a degree in Veterinary Technology; and I'm looking forward to a great future here at Animal Medical.  I can't wait to meet you and your fur baby!

Billie, Client Care Coordinator

Hi there! My name is Billie and I love working at Animal Medical!

Born and raised in Pennsylvania; I married my high school sweetheart, Jason & we have been a Navy family for over 20 years now. I have two wonderful children, Alissa (22) and Austin (17). My pets have always been a big part of my life and I cannot imagine a life without them!

My current pets are Mikey, a loving 11 year old Maltese, Stewie, an energetic 6 year old Yorkie, and my newest adopted pup, Bailey, who is a 4 year old Yorkie/Shih Tzu mix. My newest adoption is Trixie, a sweet little Yorkie who was diagnosed with severe kidney disease at only 6 months old.

I also have four cats, a "plump" and beautiful 13 year old calico named Sweetie, a black beauty named Kit that we rescued from a hard life on the streets when he was just a baby, a cutie named Tommy Pickles adopted from Chesapeake Humane, and an energetic, beautiful Savannah kitten named Sheldon...who can occasionally be seen at the clinic lounging in a cabinet or greeting clients with his friend Roo!

I worked in the medical field for over 7 years; but recently decided I wanted to move over to veterinary services because helping animals and loving owners makes me happy! I am so glad to have this opportunity with Animal Medical to meet you and your fur babies!!
